Mammobus is a mobile unit for breast diseases screening. First of its kind in South India

The Mammobus is a step further to create awareness and make it easily accessible to women specially from the lower-income, straight at their doorstep. The Mammobus is a mobile unit for breast diseases screening and will be having the following equipments fitted in

  • Mammogram - An X-Ray device specially designed for breast cancer screening
  • Ultra Sound Scanner for the Breast
  • Audio-Visual aids to create awareness
  • Other necessary kits with competent technicians.

Dr. K. Shantha Breast Cancer Foundation (SBCF) received a "Mammobus" from the Rotary Foundation, Rotary District 3000, Rotary District 7620 and Rotary Club of Rockville, USA.

For organizers, they are only required to liaise with a single party, from arrangement of our Mobile services to actual day deployment. Providing service at the doorstep benefits not only the public of the hassle of commuting but also organizations – with minimum diesruption to its operations. Our team consisting of mobile coordinators, professionally-trained radiographers and competent technicians serve 365 days a year. Awareness programs, breast self examination, education, counseling will be provided free of cost. Digital Mammography cost will be on a cost to cost basis.

The availability of screening services at the door step brings convenience to participants – saving them the time, money and hassle of commuting from place to place. Organizers will also find it convenient to conduct health screening at the comfort of their premises or desired locations.
